a few weeks ago a friend of mine that is studying massage therapy asked if i would mind having one so she can practice, i of course said ok and we set up at my house with her massage bed. She was very good and I suppose she got me slightly aroused and she noticed this, all of a sudden i felt my towel fly off and she was down on me, she said she couldnt help it.
my question is should I tell her she is not suited to this new occupation or do you think it is a one off?
those of you saying this is not true I feel sorry for you, yours lives must be boring and uneventful.
Mine isn’t sorry!

Okay so here’s the deal. My father passed away last July suddenly from a heart attack. So I moved back home with my Mother who is in her 60′s and she is an alcoholic.
I am a Currently unemployed (I had to quit myjob) last but I have been going on 100 of job interviews but I can’t find a job that is willing to pay me what I am worth. I have my NJ Cosmetology License and Cosmetololgy Teachers Licence but I really would love to be a Sales Rep for a Cosmetology Company.
Anyway I am pissed bc my Mom is angry and upset with me because I have had no luck finding a job. She told me I am lazy and that I don’t want to work. Mind you I have always worked at least two jobs and paided for both of my cars, my first and second apartment, all of my education-Hair schools and Massage therapy. and she has the f-ing balls to say that I am lazy.
I told her if she thought it was so easy being a hairdresser that he could go invest 1000hrs in school wrk a 15hr day to have people treat you like crap.
Does any of this make me lazy but any means at all? I usually worked a 70-85 hour work week. I have not been working for 8 weeks. What would you do I have had no luck trying to get a job at an ice cream palor. Ugh. I just needed to vent. Someone please help me.

I was planning on getting my National Massage Therapy Certification thru a local community college. I plan on moving to NC in 2011 and my daughter will be 3yr old. What are some available careers to me, other than Spas and Resorts? And do you think I would be able to support myself and my daughter independently?

I’ve had the hardest time finding a university in chicago that offers specifically a bachelor’s in sports therapy or physical therapy. All that comes up are schools with massage therapy, therapy assistant, and a masters in therapy. I wish i just knew what courses leaded to what i want to do but i’m not very familiar with the process. I’m doing my associates in science right now at a college and i’m looking to transfer to a university in chicago that offers a bachelor’s in sports therapy. but i can’t seem to find what i want.

I want to become a massage therapist. Which online program is the best for a stay at home mom? Also, any advice on grants or loans that could assist me would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

For those who are currently in the massage therapy field, what things worked or not worked for you? Would there be a different route you would have taken in this field? I also want to take into account tuition, accreditation, instructors, etc…?

I have a massage therapy diploma from a recognized school in Miami Florida ( completed 600 hours of training) , this diploma satisifies the requirements to sit for the National Exam. What do I need to do to get a permit / license to work in California? (Orange County / San Diego County area). Thank you.

Hi! I’m in physical therapy for a back injury. I’ve had 4 courses of physical therapy before this, but it’s always just been working out and then a TENS unit; this time I’m having deep tissue massage and ultrasound, which is essentially just heat, so when my doctor knows that heat makes me feel 10X worse, I don’t know why he wrote a prescription for that. I have brachial plexus neuralgia too, so this pain is now radiating down my arms and I have no strength (can’t lift my arms more than an inch off my sides)… and before I got that done yesterday, I could move them a good 6-8 inches. I also have a pounding headache and I’m typing w/ one finger right now because I can’t move my hands.
I’m allergic to a LOT of medications, but what I have at home that I’m not allergic to is: Zanaflex 8mg (a muscle relaxer for spinal cord injuries), Darvocet (mild narcotic), and then plain old Motrin. Which would be most effective for the type of problems I’m having? Thank you!

I am not looking for certification. Just to learn enough to give my woman a relaxing massage. Is there any school that trains you for a couple of hours?

I’m a recent graduate of massage school and would like someone to give me information regarding oxycontin and massage. Is there a certain time massage would be safer for clients using this medication. Are there any reference materials you would recommend regarding medications and massage?
Also this particular client has 4 herniated disks. I am a little nervous about working on her. Any info is greatly appreciated!

I have one more year left of High School and I’ve decided that I want to be a massage therapist. This has been a recent decision so I don’t know everything about becoming one. I have a couple of questions. Do you have to go to college before starting massage therapy school or can you go right after you finish High School? Also how many years of Massage therapy school do you need to become lisenced??
thank you soo much
