I just went to an Asian Massage Parlor. Nothing ‘extra’ was givien; just a regular massage and table shower. They charged me for it (pretty cheap). When I gave her , she’s not too happy. I usually give 20% tip for any services such as restaurant, massage, barber, etc. Am I too cheap? How much should I give? I appreciate your input. Thanks!

i have been looking into going back to college. i have 4 kids and need to graduate asap. i have checked out several local schools and found that i could get a certificate,diploma, or associates degree. these programs last from 1 to 2 yrs. i dont care if i work in a docors office, spa, or if i am self employed. although a job that would allow me to work around my kids schedule would be best and of course i need something that pays well,(daycare will be very expensive for me). also what are the pros and cons, is the money actually good? could i get a job in therapeutic massage while i finish school if i go for the associates degree?

does holistic medicine help you improve when you have emotion problem? like if you are anxious..does it calm you down?

I’ve acquired a spa recently with the purchase of our new house last month. Two days ago I accidentally put too much alkaline raising chemical and now the pH reading is HIGH and the alkalinity reading is VERY HIGH. I can guess the actual readings are off the scale! I stupidly put the "start up" dose instead of the routine top up dose, so I put about 5 times too much. I’ve put the pump/filter on each day for two days, and the water is foaming up. Yesterday and today I added the normal dose of pH lowering chemical. I also have bromine tablets. What should I do next? Will the problem resolve itself after a couple of days? Do I keep putting the pump on each day? Should I again add the same dose of pH lowering chemical or maybe more? We’ve had the spa company in to service the spa, and they advised us to find a spa shop nearby – problem is I haven’t found one so far. Any suggestions? I’m assuming after a couple of days it will resolve itself, but I wanted to check to see.

I need to get a gift for a family member that is a massage therapist and I have no ideat what to get her. I was thinking
oils and maybe music that she may need while massaging
people but I dont know what would would be the best.

I am going to purchase my mother a massage for Christmas. I have never had a massage (I have issues with strangers touching me), but my mother has had many and loves them. I do not want to ask her what kind she likes the most, as I would like to keep it a surprise. I plan on getting her one from an Aveda spa here in town, They have the regular massage that says they infuse different techniques, but they also have the stone massage. Has anyone had this (the stone massage)? Did you like it? Anything you would recommend would be appreciated. TY.

She already has a lot of them so it has to be pretty unique. A coffee table book would be good too, for her clients to read while they’re waiting. Any suggestions??

a long time. I was wondering if anyone makes a living off this career. I was talking to some people around my area and they say they charge anywhere from to an hour, sometimes getting tips if your really good. Can someone give me an idea of what they charge and how much they make a year so I can make a decision. I don’t want to waste my time or money if it’s not worth it. I think it would be great to set my own hours and I was thinking of doing 5 a day. If I charged an hour and did 5 a day at 23 days in a month I come up with 00.00 not including any tips. That is ,800. To me that’s good money, but than I hear people make only ,000 a year and I make more than that now. HELP. I want out of this hell whole of a job.
