I’ll be 39 weeks tomorrow; I was 4 cm dilated and 90% effaced at my Thursday appointment and have been having some cramps in my back and lower abdomen (not full-fledged contractions, but maybe the start of them). My sister is giving me a free prenatal massage today. She is a trained and licensed massage therapist (for over 10 years now), but it will actually be my first massage from her, because she’s usually so booked up and I prefer she be able to make money over giving me one for free. Anyway, I think I’ve heard that prenatal massage can send you into labor if you’re on the brink. Just wondering if anyone has found that to be true. I don’t mind if it does or does not, but I was curious.

For months I have been experiencing slowly worsening pain in my right shoulder. It started with a numb burning feeling under my shoulder blade and has developed into a sharp pain that radiates down my tricep and makes my surrounding shoulder muscles sore. I do have health insurance that will start soon, but wondered in the meantime if anyone had experienced something that sounds like this, and what it turned out to be.

Compared to other places? I’m training to become a massage therapist and then I want to move there by this summer. If I got a job as a therapist at a spa there, could I support myself until my bf can also get a job? Any opinions welcome. Thanks!

I am 29 and had laparoscopic surgery over a month ago to remove a cyst on my ovary. I still have shoulder pain concentrated in my right shoulder and it’s painful to breathe. I have tried sleeping on my back, pain meds and heating pads and nothing works. Any suggestions?

I recently started school for massage therapy and I’ve heard a few men say thing such as, "I would NOT want MY girlfriend being a massage therapist" i just don’t get it haha. Must be an insecurity thing?

I was talking to this girl over the weekend and she complained about working all day on saturday and her lower back being sore. So one thing led to another and I’m suppose to give her a back massage tomorrow, but I don’t know a thing about giving back massages other than maybe rubbing it a lot with different speed and intensity. Please help!

I’m at a point in my life where i cant go to college. My life’s goal is to end up in college. For now though, I want to make bigger money faster. I just graduated high school a few weeks ago and I’m really interested in learning a trade like say being a barber, or phlebotomy.. What vocational careers are there that I could look into? The thing is I don’t want to live the minimum wage life forever because i work at Mcdonalds and it’s difficult. I’m also really interested in therapeutic massage. Is this a good trade? Will I really have to only take a few months or weeks worth of school or will i end up having to further my education into a degree? This is just a temporary career choice. Please help me? Any career advice is appreciated
And please don’t tell me to go to just go to college.I have certain personal reasons for not being able to go at the moment, but like i said, It’s a goal, and not a dream to end up in college in the next 2 years. P.S the reason i posted this under politics was because idk, i’ve posted this under education but nobody gave a shiit so what the heck, maybe politically interested individuals might help?

This kind of spa is Oriental skin spa where it’s concentrate on using fresh imported
herbals from Thailand (such as Turmeric, marl-lime stone, honey, etc.) There will be
salt-mineral hot jacuzzi bath and Aroma oil Thai massage. Basically it’s something
to scrub the dead skin, dig out all collective dirt in the pore and massage in the natural
herbal skin essence, to encourage the blood flow. So it has nothing to do with nail, hair
or manicure at all. Do I need only business license or cosmetologist license or else?

There was a warning on one today when I went to the mall, and I thought it was very odd. I can understand pregnant women and people with disabilities not being advised to use one, but "menstruating women" ?

Just got back from the ER – I have a stabbing pain in my left shoulder, pain under my arm, the back of my neck is stiff, and I get pains under my rib cage on the left side. Anyone else ever had this and if yes what was your diagnosis. A little freaked right now. They wanted to keep me in the hospital over night but let me come home.

What is a good school to go to for Massage Therapy and Business?
I want to own my own Spa Resort and I needed some help picking a school. I want to move to the Norfolk, VA beach, Newport News area and attend college. I would like to take Business Management classes along with Massage Therapy classes. Possibly having a double major.

Can I please only have feedback from people who have received the treatment not from those totally against it who just want to rant and rave. What I want to know is those who have had the treatment, did it help with your problem- my problem is severe bloating and all that comes with digestive problems :O Please also tell me if you had any bad side effects. I had my first treatment today and although I feel fine, I have noticed some tiny flesh/reddish colored pieces of something or other coming out while on the toilet… slightly scared :O
