I have had neck and shoulder pain for a few weeks now and it doesn’t seem to be getting much better. I had a chiropractor work on me for a few weeks and it seemed to only make it worse. I also went to a dr. for muscle relaxers, but the only made me tired and feel loopy, the pain was still there. So, what can I do to ease some of this pain does anyone know?

To start out i am 19 i live in northern Wisconsin, i am around 120lbs. one year ago this month i was putting up Christmas lights and developed a pain in my right knee. the pain is just above the left side of my right knee cap.
I have been to 2 chiropractors 2 orthopedic surgeons and 2 physical therapists. None of the treatments have helped and my condition is still unknown. I had an MRI done in December of 07 which showed nothing. my latest chiropractor says that the sacrum bone is not staying in place and causing the muscles on the inside of my right leg to pull, resulting in patella femoral syndrome ( miss alignment of the knee cap. Knee cap doesn’t track correctly).
physical therapy has been done to strengthen muscles to pull the knee camp over to the right.
Currently i am working on lateral release therapy to loosen the muscle from my sacrum to my knee. This is also not helping.
The pain is sometimes better on days with physical therapy but does not stay away, and will return if i sleep with my knee bent during the night. The only real relieve from the pain is the Kinesio tapping method. this lasts only as long as the tape will stay on with out having to re-tape. icy hot, bengay, microcurrent, muscle stim, all did not have lasting effects on me.
Since i have gotten no where with the local doctors in my town, I’m turning it over to you. If you have any ideas what this could be or anything that might help please don’t be shy. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

So im thinking of starting my own little buisness. I work full time and have a cleaning jobs I do, but I was searching online and I found massage tables online and now im thinking I could start my own buisness. I don’t have a degree but its not like im trying to be a chiropractor! So My question is would you ever go to someone who didn’t have a degree? I would obviously be preofessional and do all my research, practice ect. I know about the whole muscle thing and that they disect bodies. But I would really be doing it a little more affordable and maybe start a little spa here at my apartment?
Any thoughts?? Thanks so much!

I live in Minnesota and am wondering how do I achieve this goal? What type of schooling do I need to go to? What colleges should I apply to?
My ideal would be to run my own business giving adjustments plus massage. Also with a chiropractor degree are you allowed to give people advice on what they should be eating? Thanks so much!

My chiropractor thinks I that I get a pinched nerve in my neck when I move my neck through certain motions. I have pain in my right pinkie and ring finger when I close my hand. If the nerve was involved wouldn’t it hurt (all the time) regardless of whatever I was doing with my hand?

I constantly feel like I need a back massage; would a chiropractor work once with an adjustment? Does it last when you go to a chiropractor or am I going to have the same problem over and over. I dont have something wrong with my back its just sore from sitting in a chair all day and then driving home an hour. Any help would be appreciated; thanks.

I wrestle and box and so I believe I may have injured my upper back/lower neck last night in wrestling. I have this pain in what seems to be my thoracic area (between shoulder blades) only on the left side of my spine, almost as if it’s against it, but this isn’t muscle pain. It feels deeper. It is in constant pain, but especially hurts when I lean my head forward all the way or when i turn my head toward my left. It hurts when I turn my head right, but not nearly as much.
Could this be of cervical origin because it hurts when twisting my head the most? Is this a pinched nerve? Is this a common injury with wrestling? I’ve never seen anyone have this. What are some thoughts on what it could be? What should I do? I’m thinking about acupuncture and visiting a chiropractor just because I know one of each, but would really appreciate possibilities of what this is, that I have everything on the table and can work every angle.
I know I should see a physician, but I just graduated college and am not insured yet.

Okay, I have a private massage practice and for the last month or maybe even two every single client I see has chronic pain in upper back and neck. Traps Rhomboids etc…
So what I’m wondering is if this is a common thing or what? Most of my clients have no structural problems(they have been to md’s), so if you do find this in your practice, please give ideas on how you address this! I’m sure it is different for each client. I’m just looking for some fresh ideas.
Most of the clients I am speaking of do see a chiropractor regularly. Some weekly. Still chronic pain.

About 8 months ago i woke up with a stiff neck. Three months into the pain i saw a chiropractor for a month and didnt feel better.. Then i saw an orthopedist who said to stop that and go to physical therapy. I went to pt for the last 2 and a half to 3 months and i dont feel much better. I didnt stretch as much as i should have but the pain hasnt really decreased that much.

So a little over two weeks ago, I was sitting weird at my computer, and when I stood up, the left lower side of my back felt numb. For about a week and a half, I had that mild numbness that went away and came back at times, and pain in my lower back. I have no back pain now, or numbness in that area, but now the muscles on my side, just above my hip, feel very tight, and a little painful when I’m sitting. What the heck did I do? Should I go see a chiropractor or my regular doctor?

I am graduating from Massage Therapy school next month and I want to start looking for a job now. But I don’t know where to start. Are Spa’s looking for massage therapist that are certified right now or will they not mind that I am almost done? How much do you make at a spa as a massage therapist? Would you prefer working at a Spa or a Chiropractor’s office? Anything you know I should know about a Spa would be a big help for me. Thanks.
