For example, medical billing and claims, dental assistants, pharmacy techs, massage therapists… ect., I need a decent job to pay for my college and support my family, but i dont have much time to get it. i want to get a certificate in a year and a half or less, possibly 2 years… so i cant go to college for what i want, and not waste time getting an associates in applied science, which should only take 2 years but for my schedule it will take around 4 or 5. thats too long. does anyone have any suggestions? im versatile and i can do just about anything. any suggestions are welcome, thank you

Is Massage Therapy a good career?

Do you think Massage Therapy is a good career for me? When I’m older I plan to move out, get a job, and start going to college for massage therapy. I don’t really want much. I want to live in a little studio apartment, just me. Do massage therapists make a decent living?

Are estheticians allowed to do basic Swedish massages in Florida?

Are massage therapists allowed to do body scrubs?

In Texas, who/how/where do I report illegally working massage therapists with no license to? Thanks!

do massage therapists find their own clients?

i was wondering if massage therapists are handed clients by their employers or if we have to find them on our own? also are we paid on commission?

and another thing, is it hard to get a job as a massage therapist if you have a criminal record of selling marijuana or possession? btw im located in new jersey.

Im a sophmore in high school, and i want to get an idea of what i’d like to be when i get older. ive always had a dream of being a massage therapist, owning my own spa. but i dont know exactly how i’d own my own spa and all that. but i also wanted to know if massage therapists even make good enough money…

I’m interested in becoming a massage therapist but most of the job adds I see for it are part time. I’d like to do it full time so I can afford my own apartment. Do spas/massage parlors typically hire massage therapists to work full time or part time? Or does it just vary? In general, is massage therapy a good career for someone who just wants to make enough to rent an apartment and comfortably live on their own?

I don’t need much, just a place to live and food, I really want to live in Maui, but I am wondering if I can live there with a massage therapists job. what is the minimum salary you can survive on there? thank you so much for your input!

Do massage therapists really make that much?

I have a friend who wants to become a massage therapist and she thinks she will be making doctor’s money off it. I mean, I am no professional but I looked up the income of massage therapists on various sites and most of them said MT make around 30k a year. I know they have a possibility to make 0 per hour BUT if they work for a salon don’t they only get to keep around 50%-75% of that? Plus I heard they don’t get insurance and most MT only work part time because the work is so physically demanding. Also, if they work as a private business isn’t uncle sam going to take a big chunk out of their income with taxes(not including supplies)? And aren’t they going to lose a lot of money on supplies? I mean, I could be wrong and MT can make "good" money (yet still not Doctor’s status) but she makes it out to be like she’s going to be so rich and I just don’t think that is true. I have never heard of a MT making anywhere near 200k (which is like a low estimate of a doctor’s first year income).

I really think she is being arrogant and hasn’t done the proper research on all the money taken out of that (possible) 0 per hour. How much do MT really make annually?

Hi, I’m planning to do a two year diploma on either Esthetics or Massage Therapist in Canada. Which one is more in demand? When I look at the job site, there are more jobs for Massage Therapist but I’ve heard most massage therapists experience a burn out after 2-3 years and it’s bad on their bodies.

As for Esthetics…anyone in this line?

For female massage therapists. When giving a man a massage do you ever notcie him getting an erection? I know this question sounds perverse. But the last massage I had from a female I really had to concentrate that my erection did not get too hard. Because it would have been too noticeable when I rolled over.
