I’m currently in school for massage therapy (600hrs) and I am in my 4th mod. What are the requirements to work in Chicago as a licensed massage therapist with an out-of-state license?

Federal loans for things like cosmotology, nail tech, massage therapy?

I find this hard to believe since these are private schools (for profit).
I asked in education and just got spam answers about loans (hundreds of them)- no one is there.
Anyone in this section know for sure?

This is NOT a personal question. I am not interested in attending nail tech school and making government student loans to pay for it.

I was thinking of going to school to become a massage therapist and had some questions. What is the difference between being a licensed massage therapist and a certified massage therapist? I know that a certificate is less schooling and cheaper but will I still be able to get decent work? And another question I had was being a male would it be harder for me to find work in this field? I asked this because I came across a blog about a guy who went to school for massage therapy and is now having a very difficult time finding work and he believes it’s because of his gender. Any feedback would help, 10 points to the best answer!

I’m looking for the BEST possible school in orlando that either provides or specializes in massage therapy. By best i mean…best accreditation, best education and best one for a promising career.

Ive looked at the Florida college of natural health, as well a central florida school of massage therapy and the holistic massage therapy school…they also have keiser and everest but im not sure those are better then the ones listed first…someone please let me know what you find, im trying to apply soon! thank you

I’ve been unemployed for 1 yr and 9 months. I’ve been living off the checks. I’m not really looking for a job right now because there are none, but eventually the money will run out and I will have to work! Im 26, and I don’t have a college education. I went to massage therapy school 7 years ago and never took the state exam, so I don’t remember anything and you need the license to work. So I feel hopeless, I know I brought this upon myself. Any suggestions or advice would be great.

Is Massage Therapy a good career?

Do you think Massage Therapy is a good career for me? When I’m older I plan to move out, get a job, and start going to college for massage therapy. I don’t really want much. I want to live in a little studio apartment, just me. Do massage therapists make a decent living?

ok guys I need some input and opinion as well. I have a short-term career goal and a long-term career goal…for short-term, I want to specialize in three areas: personal fitness, massage therapy, and nutrition. I want to combine those three practices and work at a wellness center/gym/spa, etc. Can you please give me more info on how to achieve these goals (where to apply to school, the cost, the length of education, certification required, pay, etc.). I really really want to do all three at once, so how can I make this possible? Long-term, I want to go to medical school and become a surgeon. I think getting a solid foundation in the health and fitness field is great because I will be able to financially support myself if needed while taking care of my body and doing what I love. I think having a background in fitness, nutrition, and massage will look good when I apply to med school because I can back up my passion for health and well-being with actions, not just words. Furthermore, being a massage therapist means my hands will develop strength and exceptional dexterity, which is very useful for a surgeon. Oh and I plan to work towards my biochemistry degree as well, one-two classes per semester because I have other things on my plate (already finished 1.5 years of college woot woot!) So what do you guys think about my plans? Can you give me any advice please as to how to make my dreams come true? Thank you :-)
