I am looking to be a Sports Medicine Physician. Currently, I am a Junior in my pursuit of a Kinesiology degree. After my bachelors, I am wanting to attend med-school.
I need to know what would the best kind of work be for me right now. Currently, I am a waiter, making tips to pay for my tuition and rent and everything but I would like to start practicing what I will be doing later on. Any suggestions?

I am a medically trained massage therapist. Recently I learned about a celebrity who experienced a disease which I treat with physical medicine. I would like to let the person know how I could help them. What would be the best way?
I won’t say who the individual is as that would not allow them privacy. In interviews it has come up that this condition is cause for some self concious feelings, so I beleive it is important to them otherwise they would not have mentioned it.
I have tried the Oprah hookup and hasn’t seemed to pan out. As far as the manager, this celebrity has two. Their job is to run off the crazies, which I’m sure they would think I am since I am not in the business etc.

My terrier (18lbs) has torn her acl ligament. I’ve found on the web that glucosamine/chondroitin helps to heal this problem, but I can’t find any information about how much to give her. My vet doesn’t know (I’m from a small town and the local vet tends to prescribe pain medicine rather than vitamins). Does anyone know where I can find this out?

I’m currently a massage therapist thinking about going into the air force. I figure that since I know quite a bit about the body and massage already that my certificate in massage may help my chances in getting the physical medicine assistants job. I’m choosing this job as I hear job training in the air force is BRUTAL due to time, so hopefully I know most of what they want to teach. ANYWAYS, does anyone know if being a licensed massage therapist might help in getting this highly populated job? Thanks for your time!

Went to his primary doctor due to chronic pain. He is young so the guy didn’t give him a second of his time, and just said he didn’t know what the issue was to go see an orthopedic specialist.
He told the doc it felt like muscular pain. Doesn’t orthopedic specialist only look at issues with the bone? Is there a better specialist to see for more of a muscle issue? He is having trouble sleeping, and just being motivated due to the pain. And over the counter anti inflammatory or pain relief medicine doesn’t do much to relieve it.
He is def going to go to PT, but he does want some pain relief as well in the mean time. He just wants something that will let him sleep through the night, since he has not be able to sleep very well.
If he does want to see a specialist who should he see?

Does anyone know a really great school to go to for getting a degree for massage therapy? I was thinking Swedish Institute or Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in New York City, but didn’t really check many other places and such.

…and take a rest before get the mud removed with a shower.
The family of the wife of my brother use alternative medicine. My son spend a weekend with his cousins and he and other five children were given this bath. According to the family, this helps the body to get rid of some toxins.

I’ve talked to some folks in the alternative/holistic/integrative medicine field and it appears that the orthodox approach may be totally wet.

What are the specific practices that are recommended in Qigong and Chinese medicine for optimal health during the winter? If you could cite a good source that would be appreciated!

When you are not feeling well, do you choose alternative medicine/therapy first or an allopathic (visit a doctor) approach first?
If alternative which do you go for first?
herbs
homeopathy
naturopathic doctor
acupuncture
massage
ayurvedic
tibb
hypnosis
EFT
reflexology
reiki
neuro-linguistic programming
colon hydrotherapy
etc.
And if allopathic?
aspirin
other pills
doctor
etc.

work well for me. Basically, I had been suffering from hyperacidity earlier. Now it is cured but it has left behind constipation. I have been suffering from it for the last 6 months. It has even started causing breathing problem by pressurising my diaphram, and it is restricting my blood flow. Currently I am eating very light vegetarian food and papaya regularly, and taking ayurvedic medicine. I am also drinking around 4-5 litres of water daily. The water flushes some dirt out everyday but not to my satisfaction. Also, I like milk, should I drink it? Does it cause gas? What should I do? Please help.

I’m a senior in high school, and I need to start getting college stuff done. I’d like to go into massage therapy/sports medicine; but what I really need to know is how to become a massage therapist, what are the requirements before you can go to massage school, how much, etc.? Thank you!

The Dr. said that it’s not a very big one, and it’s a little rounded off, but it is rubbing a bit. They also found that one of the vertebrae in her neck is ‘wearing unevenly’ (how the assistant worded it). Anyways…the question is…besides surgery, is there anything to help reduce the pain from either of those? I have Glucosimine tablets that I’ll start tomorrow. They did give her a therapeutic massage to try and loosen up her tense muscles, and was hoping that it would help a bit with her neck, but I’ll have to wait and see. I’m also going back for a liquid medicine that is supposed to help with arthritis (being that she’s bout 13) tomorrow and gonna start that. They want her to go back in about 3 months to check her over again.
So, again…any idea if there’s anything I could do at home that could help ease her pain? Since they said these aren’t ‘major’ issues and surgery was never mentioned, I want to try and make her comfortable at home if possible.
One problem with her shoulder is that any walk longer than 5 minutes causes her to limp pretty bad after we return home. I was using Metacam, and I think it’s stopped working as well. I will be getting some stronger stuff tomorrow, and hopefully that will help her. I’ve been told to keep her active, and I’ve been told to slow down her activity. I’m not sure what to do
