I’m interested in tennis, and I’ve gotten four beginner-level, compulsory lessons at school. I turned 13 just a couple weeks ago, and I’m a bit weak and a slow runner for my age. I know that heavy and head-light rackets are safest for tennis elbow, but because I’m not very strong I’d like to start with a racket between 8 and 10 oz. And if it helps, I’m 5’4". What tennis racket do you recommend?

I notice a lot fewer players complaining about tennis elbow now.
I wonder is it because of better racquet design? Or because of two handed backhand?

I have just been offered £3500 and am in the process of accepting- am I doing the right thing?
I believe my neck will be okay once I have strengthened it but am uncertain about the tennis elbow, its still only 70% better after 15mths and a course of physio.
Will the symptoms come back?
Am I selling myself short?
If I haven’t signed in acceptance and haven’t put any cheques in the bank- CAN I STILL HOLD OUT- for what my claim should be worth- if it should be more?
Will tennis elbow come back and haunt me and will I be susceptable to getting it again now I’ve had it once?

Hi All,
I recently started kickboxing and hurt my elbow punching the heavy bag. Well it’s been hurting for about a week and I don’t know what to do about it. Is it tennis elbow? And what should I do? Sometimes I can barely straighten it without pain. There is no swelling. I do find that taking an Epson Salt bath tends to help. Should I see a doctor?

I have tennis elbow and it is very painful. I usually take a glass of white wine every day but lately I have stopped thinking that the sulphites in the wine are making the pain greater. Is this true?

Last night i did some barbell curls, about 4 sets and throughout today i have had a pain in both my arms, sort of in the biceps and mainly in the bend in my arm and down the top of my forearm, its not bad pain at all, if i had to rate if from 1-10 with one being the worst itd be 2, it aches when i stretch my arms outwards. What are the chances this is tennis elbow because its both arms, it doesnt hurt when i grip anything or strum hard on guitar thankfully but im really worried about tennis arm, thanks guys and gals

I think I have either tendonitis or tennis elbow, see: (http://answers.yahoo.com/question/?qid=20080430053217AAscdkL)
that being said, if the pain in my elbows is from a slight tear in them, when it heals, will it be stronger than before or will this be a recurring problem from now on everytime i lift?
another link in case the first does not work.

I’ve had tennis elbow for some time now from military training. I’m out of the service now, and have rested my bicep for 8-10 weeks doing physical therapy and all the necessary things, but it’s still just as bad. Please do not recommend medical treatments (i.e. cortisone or resting). My question is if anyone knows of bicep/shoulder workouts that do not put too much strain on my elbows. Curls seem to only worsen them, and shoulder press is out of the question. Any WORKOUT ideas will be greatly appreciated, as not being able to lift weights and only doing cardio has caused me to lose nearly all of my hard earned muscle mass. Thanks in advance.
Correction: I’ve rested my elbows, not just biceps.

I have severe tennis elbow, the MRI shows a lot of degeneration of the tendon. I have tried every option available, Rest-Ice-Compression-Elevation (R.I.C.E.), PT x 2, Shots x 2, Nitro Glycerin patches, Botox. Now I am in an immobilization brace at 90 degrees to help try and stop the degeneration, and pain while I contimplate surgery. I have been well versed about the surgery, its success rates and outcomes. However my doctor couldn’t recall anyone getting worse after the surgery, so here I am. Any answers?

So i got tennis elbow from over working my triceps and from wrestling practice. I got excruciating pain the first couple of days. Unfortunately, I decided to drop wrestling because of this. I also have weight training and i have laid off arm workouts, the closest i go to working out arms is bench press and cleans and i dont over do it. I have laid off about a month now on arm workouts and have been icing it and massaging it and getting some ibuprofen. I wanted to know how much longer should i lay off or if i’m doing something wrong
thanks for the answer
i’ve been weight training for over a year now and never had this problem up until i started following my stupid partner who did arm workouts everyother day which i’m pretty sure led to over training due to the fact i was doing wrestling at the same time.

I have mild tennis elbow. Usually gets a bit tender after I play but its not debilitating at all and goes away after 1-2 days. I have a nike tennis elbow band which isn’t bad but it is a little too "localized." Meaning it is too narrow and tight on just 1 spot. I would think a soft pressure over a more broad area would help more. Similar to a sleeve. Anyway with kinesio tape could I do something similar? Instead of the patterns they suggest I just want to wrap it a few times around my elbow area for some pressure.
The reason I ask is because it is expensive and they seem to be crazy over the perfect taping technique. Thanks

It happens in my dominant arm, it’s not painful but it’s disturbing. When something is put on my elbow, like pressure or even when I just lean it against the table, there’s this radiating feeling that goes from my elbow to my fingers.
I asked a friend and she told me it could be tennis elbow so I read about it but I don’t think it is.
IDK if there’s been trauma.. Probably? No it’s not associated with any pain–it never hurt. Just the feeling of ‘flowing electricity’ or at least that’s what I call it. Uhm no heat or swelling either. It really appears normal when you look at it. I’m 5’4", 58kgs and I’m so feeling well.
Anything to help me know what this is, I’ll gladly answer any queries. I’m planning to have it x-rayed but I want to at least have an idea what it would turn out to be.
Yes thank you so much.
I asked a friend from the US who’s a doctor but not a specialist in musculoskeletal disorders and she advised me to have it x-rayed. And she was also she was also the one who told me it could be tennis elbow. I’m from the Philippines btw. I just got kind of paranoid with this because I still haven’t solved my TMJ problem and now I’m having another unpleasant experience, probably involving skeletal system again. Some 6 years ago, I think, my x-ray result showed dextroscoliosis.
